About

Software for governance, built the way you wish your other software was.

govern.school is part of TSO Education, a small team building modern software for the people who keep schools running.

Why we built this

School governance is one of the most important jobs in the country, and it’s done largely by volunteers and small clerking teams who deserve better tools than the ones available to them.

The current options either started life as corporate board software ten years ago, or as document storage with a calendar bolted on. Neither was designed for the way UK multi-academy trusts actually work, trust-board over local governing bodies, committees with overlapping membership, evidence of challenge that Ofsted expects to see logged, attendance registers exported by academic year, statutory documents that have to live on a public-facing portal.

So we built one that was. govern.school is what happens when the people behind the rest of your trust’s good software turn their attention to governance.

What we believe

Software for school governance should respect the time of volunteers. If a governor has to spend twenty minutes finding the right document to read before a meeting, the software has failed.

It should work the way MATs actually work. Not the way a corporate board does. Trust + LGB scopes, multi-trust memberships, central clerking, and roll-up reporting, not as features bolted on, as the shape of the product.

It should tell you the truth about its limits. We’ll never tell you we’ve passed a certification we haven’t passed, that we replace your training, or that the AI knows what your safeguarding lead is thinking. Where the product’s job stops, we say so.

Who we are

govern.school is built by TSO Education, a small team building modern software for UK schools. We work with multi-academy trusts to ship product that fits how they actually operate.

Detailed team bios and a careers page will land before public launch. If you’re interested in joining, the short version is: we hire engineers and designers who care about the public sector, and we pay them properly.

Where we’re going

Our public roadmap will live at /changelog after launch. The short version of what’s coming in the first six months:

  • Outlook / Google Calendar two-way sync for meetings.
  • Single sign-on for the larger trust plans.
  • An AI agenda-builder that drafts from your last committee’s minutes and your trust’s annual cycle.
  • An attendance-trend report that warns chairs before the 75% threshold becomes an issue.

What we’re not building: a CRM, an HR system, a finance ledger, or anything else that already has a better-suited product in your stack. govern.school is for governance.

See the product, meet the team.

Demos are run by people who’ve built or used the product end-to-end. No pre-sales handover.
